A concert can be more than one evening on a calendar. It can be the reason to choose a new city, gather friends and give yourselves a weekend with a proper soundtrack. Nickelback’s announced Riga date offers exactly that kind of possibility for summer 2027.
The band will play Xiaomi Arēna on Sunday, 4 July 2027, with British band Don Broco as special guests. The venue and organisers describe it as Nickelback’s first show in Latvia — a clear reason for fans to look at Riga as a concert destination.

🎶 Why this is a good reason to visit Riga
For fans, a first announced Latvian appearance gives the show a sense of occasion. For a group travelling together, Riga provides the rest of the weekend: a compact historical centre, cafés, parks and a choice of cultural stops before the main evening.
The attraction is the combination. You can spend a day discovering a city and still have a single shared plan that brings everyone together at the end. There is no need to fill every hour with appointments when the concert already gives the trip its centre.
Expect the live performance to be the main event rather than a guaranteed list of songs or special effects. Use the organisers’ confirmed announcements for programme details; a favourite track is a reason to be excited, not a promise about the final set list.
🎟️ Tickets: follow the official route
Start from the venue, FBI or Live Nation event page and follow its ticket link. Compare the ticket category, the final amount including applicable fees and any conditions that matter to your group before completing a booking.
Availability and prices can change, so this guide does not present an old promotional minimum as a current offer. Keep the concert and accommodation as two separate bookings, checking both before settling on travel plans.

🏟️ Xiaomi Arēna: plan the evening properly
Xiaomi Arēna is the venue formerly called Arena Riga. Both names refer to the same arena at Skanstes iela 21. It is a separate trip from the Old Town, so include the journey rather than assuming the show is beside your dinner reservation.
The published doors and show times leave a clear distinction between arrival and performance. Give yourselves room for entry, finding the right area and settling in. The latest venue guidance is the place to check bag rules, accessibility arrangements and any event-specific instructions closer to the date.
Plan the return too. After a large concert, a little flexibility is useful; a tightly timed late dinner or onward connection can make an enjoyable evening unnecessarily hurried.
🌆 Turn the concert into a Riga weekend
☕ Saturday: meet the city
Keep arrival day uncomplicated. Settle into your apartment, walk through the Old Town and choose somewhere for a relaxed meal. If the group enjoys art, add a museum rather than trying to cover every major sight.
🎸 Sunday: save your energy for the show
Choose one easy daytime outing and have a meal with enough time left for the arena journey. The concert is the anchor; let the rest of the day support it. Keep tickets and the venue’s current information readily available.
🌿 Monday: a softer finish
If your travel dates allow, give the morning to breakfast and a short walk before departure. An extra night can turn a late concert into a comfortable weekend instead of a rushed journey home.
🏡 Your own place to return to
MIRO Rooms offers apartments at Center, Skolas and French for different kinds of stays. Friends can choose space that suits the group, while couples can keep the weekend simple with a private apartment base.
Look at the particular apartment’s location, facilities and live availability when booking. Choose what fits your trip rather than relying on a general promise that every property has the same features or sits next to the arena.
