November is a lovely month to give Riga an evening plan. Choose a concert, a ballet or a good dinner, then let the rest of the trip move at a gentler pace. By the end of the month, the Old Town begins to add Christmas lights and market stalls to the picture.
The November 2026 calendar combines arena favourites with smaller vocal performances, a major jazz visit and a new ballet production. Here are nine reasons to look at a Riga city break, from the opening weeks of the month to its festive final weekend.

🍽️ A warm start to the month
🍽️ Riga Restaurant Week: autumn edition
When: 2–15 November.
Where: Participating Riga restaurants.
The autumn restaurant programme offers a reason to make lunch or dinner part of the trip itself. Choose a participating restaurant by its menu and location, rather than assuming that every venue has the same price or booking conditions.
A tasting-style meal can be the main event on a quiet day or a comfortable start before a performance. Check the restaurant’s own current menu, service dates and reservation arrangements before making plans.

🌳 A Journey to Marsi: art meets Latvian nature
When: Until 15 November.
Where: Latvian National Museum of Art, Jaņa Rozentāla laukums 1.
Artists and photography explore Latvia’s wooded meadows in this city-centre exhibition. The run ends on 15 November, making it a useful daytime choice for a visit in the first half of the month. Check the museum’s opening day before combining it with dinner or a concert.

🎶 Concerts for different moods
🎤 Thomas Anders from Modern Talking
When: 7 November, 19:00.
Where: Xiaomi Arēna, Skanstes iela 21.
An anniversary show brings familiar pop melodies to the arena. For fans, this is a straightforward concert-led weekend: arrive in Riga with time for dinner and a walk, then give the evening to the performance.
The venue lists doors at 18:00 and the start at 19:00. Those are different appointments: allow time for entry rather than using the performance time as your arrival target.

🎙️ Jamie Woon at Palladium
When: 15 November.
Where: Palladium Rīga.
The singer’s Riga date offers a more intimate counterpoint to the month’s arena shows. It suits a music-led visit where a warm meal, a performance and a comfortable place to return are enough to make the evening.
Keep the daytime itinerary flexible and consult the organiser’s ticket information for entry and performance details. A short city break does not need a large number of appointments to feel complete.

🎶 Aminata: Liela meitene
When: 26 November.
Where: Palladium Rīga.
Aminata returns with a programme centred on the Liela meitene project. It is a chance for international visitors to hear a distinctive contemporary Latvian voice rather than building the entire trip around artists already familiar from home.
Pair the performance with a gallery visit or an unhurried afternoon in the centre. The concert can provide the evening’s focus while leaving plenty of room for Riga itself.

🎷 Wynton Marsalis & Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra
When: 29 November, 18:00.
Where: Dailes Theatre.
The Pink Noise Riga programme brings the trumpeter and orchestra to Latvia for a major jazz evening. It is a particularly strong reason to make a full cultural weekend of the end of November.
Choose the concert first, then build the rest of the stay around it: an exhibition, a good meal and the newly opened Christmas Market can fill the daytime without competing with the main event. Follow the organiser’s official booking links for the selected concert.

🩰 Ballet and a festive final weekend
🩰 Swan Lake with a live orchestra
When: 8 November, 15:00.
Where: Xiaomi Arēna.
International Festival Ballet and Festival Orchestra bring the classical ballet to an arena setting. The afternoon start offers a different shape to the day from a late concert, leaving the evening free for a relaxed meal.
Choose seats with the performance format in mind and check the ticket seller’s conditions. This is a visiting production at Xiaomi Arēna, separate from the Latvian National Ballet’s programme at the opera house.

🌙 A Midsummer Night’s Dream: a ballet premiere
When: 27 November, 19:00.
Where: Latvian National Opera, Aspazijas bulvāris 3.
John Neumeier’s ballet brings Shakespeare’s comedy into a new Latvian National Ballet production. It gives the final weekend a strong performing-arts anchor alongside the city’s early festive atmosphere.
The premiere is marked sold out in the official calendar when checked on 26 October. Do not plan on finding premiere tickets automatically: consult the later performances and their individual availability instead.

🎄 The Old Town Christmas Market opens
When: 27 November–3 January 2027.
Where: Doma laukums.
Wooden stalls, handmade gifts and seasonal food return to Dome Square. The organiser lists 27 November as the opening date, so a late-November visit can combine a concert weekend with the beginning of Riga’s Christmas atmosphere.
Admission to the market is free according to LiveRiga; purchases are separate. Keep some time for browsing rather than treating it as a quick photograph between other appointments. Opening hours vary by day, so consult the current market schedule.

🧣 Choose early-month dining or a festive finale
The first half of November pairs restaurant week with an exhibition or a concert. The last weekend offers a different combination: performing arts, a major jazz date and the first days of the Christmas Market.
Check each event’s official ticket link before committing to travel, particularly a premiere already marked sold out. A comfortable plan leaves time for the venue, a meal and the journey home; it does not depend on rushing between two evening performances.
