Riga’s November evenings will have a new kind of glow from 15 to 18 November 2026. For four nights, Staro Rīga brings projections, interactive works and light installations to the streets, squares and parks. There are 52 works in the main programme, so give yourself a small area to explore and time to stop when something catches your eye.

✨ Begin with two stops in Old Riga

For an evening on foot, start with the works around Dome Square and Mazā Pils Street. Both are on the festival’s second Old Riga route. The small patch of streets between them lets you move from a large projection to an installation you can take part in.

🎶 Harp of Light on Mazā Pils Street

At Mazā Pils iela 19, the interactive laser harp turns visitors’ input into sound. Listen to the notes as people try it, then take your own turn when there’s space. The play between a gesture, a beam and a note fits the festival’s focus on a single moment. Read about Harp of Light.

💫 Light tracing the buildings of Dome Square

At Dome Square, Thought at the Speed of Light uses laser mapping to draw connections between the Latvian Radio building, Riga Bourse and the historic Bourse Bank building. Find a place to stand and watch how the light picks out their outlines. See the installation’s official page.

🗺️ Let the map shape the rest of your evening

If you have another night in Riga, choose a different zone. The programme extends to Mūkusala Promenade and Spīķeri, as well as the parks in the centre. Look at the festival map before setting out and save the addresses of the works you want to see. A charged phone, warm layers and comfortable shoes will help you settle into the evening.

Leave a little time for a hot drink between stops. For the rest of your trip, the MIRO Rooms November guide brings together more dates across the city.
